Ophthalmology Surgery/Exam

Cataract Surgery

Currently cataract surgery is effective and efficient in about 98% of patients. This surgery does not require general anesthesia, except in very particular situations, which can be done without hospitalization and with local anesthesia. The surgery time is small ranging from 20 to 30 minutes.

Pterygium Surgery

Pterygium - Formation of a small fibro-vascular membrane that develops from the conjunctiva, invading the cornea.
It is usually nasal and develops very slowly. It frequently presents a hereditary pattern and is closely associated with prolonged exposure to the sun and wind.
